I'd like to have a speech played every time a queen roach is killed.

I'd write:

START
Wait for event, monster stabbed
Speech
Wait 1 turn
goto START

What I'd like is
Wait for event, monster stabbed, roach queen

In other words, after choosing wait for event, and after specifying monster stabbed, I'd like to be able to specify monster type (any, roach, spider, ...).

Is there a good solution now? Will this be easier in DROD 3?

Sounds like a feature request to me...unless there's disagreement, I'll move it over.

Personally, I would love this. I've been bugging Mike about it for a long time...at least since KDD 2.0 because I couldn't put in some challenges because of not having this...but since I'm the only one who asks, I guess he doesn't think that it would be useful or something. ;) Oh yeah, and it also might be tough to do.

There isn't really a good way to do it right now because there isn't really a way to distinguish between monster types at all, except for very specific events.

Game on,

Sure, if you can move it to feature requests that would be great.

Usually there are is one particular room that you're to conceptualize where you think, "If so and so a feature was here, I would be able to make this room."

This has happened to me many many times with the feature larrymurk mentions.

On the same note (but in a different octave) a "Wait for all of a certain monster to be killed" command would be nice too.

Actually, any command with monster in it could get another submenu to select moster type, defaulting on any.
