There seem to be a few problems with updating beta holds of late (possibly since the website reshuffle). I am involved in two beta-tests at the moment, both of which got a hold update in the past few days.

Both holds did not display an Updated message when the newer hold was released, so I had to download them again (once I noticed the update *was* available). In one case (Jacob's hold), my progress carried over, whereas it didn't happen for the other hold (Doom's). Doom might have created a new hold by mistake instead of updating the old one though, as I get two different descriptions for the two versions of his hold on my computer.

A beta-test I was involved in before the website changes displayed the Updated message fine for beta holds, unlike now. I'm not sure whether the odd behaviour with Doom's hold is related to this problem or not, though.

I think that's my fault for having more than one copy of the hold in my directory. I suppose using a copy instead of the original messes the hold status up when updating. (I used the "update hold" link, after all.)

Actually, I did the same mistake during the beta-hold system testing. I just forgot that it doesn't work like that.

I'll try to be more careful with that in the future.

Well... it *does* replace the hold as far as the beta system is concerned. But as far as DROD itself is concerned, they are two different holds, thus importing the new one would not replace the old one.
