The black door appears as down, similar to yellow doors. Once a monster is killed, it goes up.

A variation will bring it down again when all the monsters are killed.

This could be used for setting up rooms full of eyes where Beethro has to be careful not to set any off until he crosses the black door, where he's then allowed to kill them all. It could also be used strategically to make barricades or traps.

Any thoughts?

I think a "black door" was discussed a long time ago, but I don't know if it behaved anything like this. At any rate, it's a great suggestion.

The Black Door discussed previously would open up when ALL of the tar in the room had been destroyed.

I'd wager that you'll have a good chance of seeing that in the future.

Sheesh...with all of these new potions/doors coming out, people are DEFINITELY going to have to use at least 256 colors. :P Anyway, since it's now going to be a purple door, or something other than black, I can't really see how it would be implemented. Maybe, in your suggestion, if there are a bunch of eyes, and then a passageway with an eye, a trapdoor, and a purple gate, then I could see it. But that's only one way. Now, what might be more interesting is a gate that would go up when all of the monsters are killed. This could force you to be in a certain position when you kill that last monster. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, sister gates were proposed by Adam Peterson a while ago. They are red, green, and blue gates that close when their counterparts open. IIRC, it was shot down by Erik.
