×#1 - The plot was a bit unoriginal, and perhaps not enough thought went into it; it didn't really stand out as interesting compared to the others, although it wasn't noticeably poor either.

#3 - I quite liked the "story in the story" idea here, and it was well-written, although I thought the plot was perhaps a bit uninventive.

#4 - I liked the twist at the end here - I found it quite amusing. Perhaps it could have been a little longer, though - maybe there could have been a little more about how Beethro ended up down in the dungeon, and why he'd decided to bother in the first place.

#6 - This was an interesting story, with a good plot and terrific use of language, but I felt it was just a little over-done. The pompous style (and something else I can't quite place my finger on) was amusing at first, but I got bored and irritated by it towards the end.

#7 - I liked this story - the plot was quite original, well written, and explained everything pretty thoroughly, even if it was a little predictable.

#8 - This got my "best originality" vote - the plot was very cool and totally unexpected. I did feel, however, that perhaps Beethro having visions of the future was a little far-fetched, although it was nevertheless very clever.

#9 - This was also quite unusual, since this time, some of the story was from a Roach's perspective, which I thought was rather cool. It explained the dungeon dynamics quite well from this reversed perspective, I thought, although the ending was a bit cryptic - I was left to guess what might have happened, which I thought spoilt it a little.

#10 - The setting was certainly not quite expected, although again, the story didn't quite strike me as being very original.

#11 - I liked the way this story gave us some insight into Beethro's education, although there didn't seem to be much of a description about the actual job itself, which probably could have improved it somewhat.

#12 - I quite liked this story - it had an interesting plot, was very descriptive, amusing in places and characterised the goblins fairly well. I just felt the ending just let it down a bit; it just felt a little like it was dragging the story on longer than it needed to.

#13 - I liked this story too, but again, I just felt the plot was a bit too similar to some of the others, although the idea of Beethro's interest being more culinary than adventurous was quite intriguing.

#14 - I think the ending was a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don't know whether it was intentional, or whether it was only noticed after being written, but I agree that it was just a bit too dry to be interesting.

#15 - Aah... how cute! Timmy (another cuteness-increasing factor) was quite a refreshingly unusual idea. Perhaps it was a little too sentimental to fit Beethro's description, but nevertheless, being a sentimental person myself, I shall admit that I did feel quite sad for poor Timmy too.

#16 - This was perhaps one of my favourites; it covered all the aspects of the job, from preparation to performance, described Beethro's background well and its characters' personalities were also well characterised. However, like some of the others, I just felt the ending lacked a quality that the middle had, and was just a little disappointing, although again, this wasn't a major problem.

#17 - The story was interesting, but it just felt a bit lacking in detail; we are told, for example, that he "cleared the first two floors almost without difficulty", but with almost no description of exactly how he did it or what he was feeling at the time. The use of the present tense in an obviously past tense story was also a bit confusing too, although it was only a problem at the beginning.

#18 - The storyline was solid, if not the most original of ideas, but I think the poor grammar and spelling in places let it down somewhat. I felt its structure was also a bit random in places, and the ending was also a little unsatisfying too.

#19 - This was my entry, and I intended it to consist of two parts (maybe I should have numbered them 1 and 2, like in #16). The first was Beethro's preparation for the job, in which he discovers he has all the skills needed for becoming an exterminator, and the second being about his experiences while in the cave itself, killing the monsters and recalling all the advice and training he'd learnt from Rolpar some time before.
