If you attempt to send a PM from the web interface to someone who is not logged in (by clicking on the conversation with them), that message is sent to the main chat. Ideally, it should be sent to that person anyway - or bounce with an error message.

Not 100% sure that's all the details - when I opened chat, I had a message from someone who was not logged on at that point from approximately 3 minutes prior. I was logged into discord on another computer. Responding to that person sent messages to the main chat.
