There are dark green gates in this room on either side... how does one pass them? Obviously not via the orthosquare trapdoors, which are clearly a trap.

And is there a way to get into the middle room and/or kill any or all of the golems from here? If so, from where?

Also, what's with 3N 1W, which appears to exist only for the purposes of a cutscene?

Even if you don't need to kill the golems, how do you get *through* this room to the rooms north of here?

You need to find a way into the golem chamber. Those staircases look suspicious. Incidentally, what's with this room's color on the minimap?

Yup, eventually found the way into the chamber from below, which allowed me to drop the green doors and pass through the chamber heading north...
