Beethro was pacing back and forth among the Holding Vats, waiting for the vessels to complete their research. While walking past the northwest vat for what seemed like the millionth time, he looked down and noticed a scrap of paper. It read:

1 leg of golem
2 wing of wraith
1 eye of eye
6 roach eggs
2 chicken eggs
1 tbsp. tar

"Hmm, some sort of recipe. I've heard about these, but never actually seen one. Still, it is curious ..." Beethro thought. Just then, Bombus Gadhan was walking by. "Bombus!" Beethro shouted. "I found this vat recipe, and I have a question. I would ask the vessels, but they're busy."

"What is it, Beethro?" asked Bombus.

"Well, y'see, I never really thought about what would go into a vat recipe, but looking at this, most of it makes sense ... except the chicken eggs. Do you know what the deal is with that bit?"

Bombus chuckled. "Oh, it's quite simple, dear Beethro. As the old saying goes ...

I get the joke, but it makes no sense continuity wise. Swap out Bombus for 1st Chemist.
