Hmm . . . It was my understanding that if we went with separate CDs for the two OSes, we were going to ship them together so you would have both. But I could be wrong.

Let us just say at this time it's undecided. Things could change one way or another.

Is progress that is saved on Caravel.net independent of the holds that we currently have installed? i.e. If we complete a hold and delete it, will we still be be able to see room images?

If so, will we be able to reinstall a hold and not have to do it all again from the beginning? (which would be useful for challenges/hints&solutions)

Yes.

We will probably have something to help you with this - like you'll be able to go to the forum and download your progress, and then import it into the game. It won't be handled in-game, however.

1: Will a hell-ish theme be on JtRH (like the lava from AE) or it has only those 3 styles I saw so far

2: Will JtRH's code be flexible enough so that just by adding a new bitmap file (if it uses bitmaps) on the folder and some ini poking would add a new style to the game? (Although leaving it so mod-able can be cathastrophic (sp?) on the economic point of view since you lose a large part of the control over the game :unsure )

There are three themes that are in JtRH... but don't let that discourage you. Each theme is packed with so much ... ummmm... stuff, that it can look totally different depending on the way that you dress it up.

Is there a new way to end a hold? Not like the screen that comes up when you conquer a hold.

We do have the option to add new themes, and Caravel would release them over CaravelNet, most likely. But there is a lot of variety within each theme, so I'd be surprised if graphical variation became a problem.

Is there a new way to end a hold? Not like the screen that comes up when you conquer a hold.

No, but I've had ideas in that direction...

Although we do have a neat new thing that basically allows you to have a bad ending and a good ending.

Caravel will not do this for JtRH.

I don't try to spread the panic, but, judging by recent behaviour of progress bar...
Has development hit some kind of major obstacle ? -_-

There are always obstacles, one after another, in varying shapes and sizes. If anybody feels frustrated that the release is taking long, multiply that times ten to know how the people on the team feel.

Patience.

I think an excellent April Fool's joke would be to make some amazing announcement that is actually true. Nobody would believe it, but then... ha ha... I really did staple my bottom lip to a 10 pound sack of rotten potatoes I found in a dumpster. That would fool 'em up good!

But can you imagine the fuss that would cause? I mean, everyone's going to be real careful after the last April Fool's prank we did, and then to find out that they should have taken it seriously, well... let's just say I'm glad my clothing's flame-retardant.

You don't need to worry any more though, since you're moving out of his basement.

I'm not sure of the answer, but let me ask you something: If you were to throw a glass of water into a pit, what would happen to it?

If a mimic goes over a trapdoor that has a mimic on it,it will float in the air. Try it.

Hey, I've got a question: Can we export our hold from 'normal' DROD and continue to build it in the JTRH? Because i'm actually working on a hold I don't want to lose it.

Caravel holds should be fully compatible with JtRH. I don't see why that wouldn't be possible.

To continue editing, though, you'd either need to make it Anyone-Edit or you'd have to import your 1.6 player into JtRH.

Yeah. I'd recommend just importing your 1.6 player anyway.

Also, this is common sense, but realize that holds exported from JtRH can't be imported into AE. So once you start editing it in JtRH, it's a JtRH hold forevermore.

Besides... the longer it takes, the more stable it is and the less chance of bugs existing. Less chance of patches to install in the future. Although, it is extremely stable already.

So can a flying monster drink a potion which is on a pit? To make a mimic on a pit, make a mimic walk over the trapdoor that the mimic potion is on.
