I'm stumped, and there are ZERO topics available for this! Specifically, I need help with the rightmost side (the one at the enterance.) I always end up cornered by the roaches. What do?

This one's about carving a favourable arrangement out of the crumbly walls. Specifically, if only two tiles adjacent to your position are open, you can cover them by swinging your sword back and forth. That suggests that you want to go:
