Perhaps the most interesting demos could be voted on (via the same mod point system we use now), and promoted by the admins.

Could this be done via a poll?

Is it possible to set up sort of a dynamical poll?

PS

This 211 move demo is perhaps my best demo :)

I spent three long evenings on it...

I really like this idea, although I realize it's a fair amount of implementation effort.

It would also cover one of my frustrations with the current "best" demos on Caravelnet, which are measured just on move count, because there are some rooms which have to be solved from a particular entrance, but then can have an artificial low-move count solution later from a different entrance.

But these cases may be an extremely hard challenge. An excellent example is The Second Sky: Training Hall: Once West.

This unintended solution is much harder than the intended one.

Of course cases with easy unintended solutions with less than 10 moves are annoying.

Similar ideas have popped up over the years. While I generally like it, there are some big problems standing in the way:
1. It would be lots and lots of work to implement.
2. Moderation.

So I don't see this happening ever, sorry.
