I'm sorry. Really, I am.
Sorry for what? Releasing a hold?
Anyway, it's only the first two levels, and It is my first attempt at a proper hold. I think that it is fun! Do you?
Some of the rooms are interesting, although I find quite a few of the scrolls irritating.

×Level 1
The variations on a theme idea was quite enjoyable, although I didn't like the walls under the tar (I don't suppose you can do much about it, though). One rom I find a little tedious is 5W, which I haven't had the patience to finish yet.
The variations weren't that difficult, however. The fact that you could open one door at a time meant that the monster hordes released were easy to get rid of. Perhaps making the groups of monsters harder to get rid of, or perhaps even installing a timer of some sort to increase or vary the types of monster you release may be an idea to try.
Level 2
Some of the rooms here were varied and fun, although one or two, like 1S, were very annoying. The spiders only add to the challenge by being invisible. If you changed the floor colour, increased the monster numbers and the release rate, then it probably will be more challenging in the movement skill sense.
1S 1E was a fun timer challenge, which I liked, but 1S 2E wasn't as good, since guessing where the trapdoors were wasn't that interesting.
1N was not hard, since you could enter the main tar mass before any spawning took place. Perhaps you could make the entrance path more winding, and increase the numbers of spawning areas for added challenge. 2*2 blobs of tar surrounded by 4 walls (arranged specially to avoid growth of the blob) create lots of babies very quickly.
The idea in 1N 1E was interesting - the "clock" was certainly quite original, although I'm not sure if it is unique. You cannot, however, access the north-west portion of the room, as the orb in the tar mass doesn't open the door leading to it. From the editor, though, the idea of having to do 2 revolutions to clear everything is a very nice theme. One thing though - are the unassociated orb and door supposed to do anything?
1N 2E, unfortunately, wasn't as interesting. Perhaps a more complicated mimic manipulation puzzle like those in Dugan's L22 might be an idea you can use here.
So, it's a nice hold so far, a bit annoying with the scrolls, and a few bits of tedium, but overall a nice job.
