Pushing player by a mimic's caber while the player can't be pushed will not kill the player. However, the player will stand on the caber and will be killed if he doesn't move the next turn.

I'm assuming that you're having something else move the mimic instead. This is probably not a bug, since sword stabs only take effect when it is that entity's turn to move.

It is perfectly possible to push Beethro through 30 swords in one turn without a scratch.

No, it doesn't need anything else to move the mimic other than Beethro.

Turning clockwise should crush Beethro against the wall, but it doesn't; it's not a matter of when weapons take effect, since the same manoeuvre with a sword would kill him.

[Also, if the wall were a pit instead, the mimic would successfully clobber Beethro into it.]

This issue appears to have been fixed for 5.0.2. A mimic or guard will instantly kill the player with a caber if they push Beethro into a wall or some other obstacle.
