Minor spoiler for TSS: Chronometric Ruins 1N1W

The move score listed in the "best demos on Caravelnet" window does not match the move score as perceived by the player when playing.

In the room above, the temporal clone lives for 15 moves before
vanishing, and whilst playing the room, these moves are counted
twice (correctly) giving 70 moves for the whole room.

In the high score table the score is listed as 55 moves.

I'm suspicious about an internal temporal counter going awry ....

TSS version 5.0.1.5973

Edit: I just applied the lastest patch 5.0.1.5997 - no changes.

From the game documentation:
Additionally, your CaravelNet high score for conquering the room is calculated as the number of moves it took you to reach the token, rather than the number of moves it took you to clear the room and leave.
As you can see in the demo description, the 70 move demo touches the token on turn 55. This seems to be working correctly.

Basically conquer tokens are supposed to cut some uninteresting parts out of high scores. Such as counting tiles to see which exit is closest after you've cleared a room.

Doom, I'd not noticed that feature with the conquer token before, thanks. (Usually the conquer token is so near to the exit that it makes no difference)

I'd always thought the conquer token was a way to force you to get to a certain location.

In this room you can hit the conquer token before all the monsters are dead, to get the best score: this seems like a distortion of the intent, but absolutely open to optimizers.

Can the moderator mark this as "not a bug" thanks.

It is in fact exactly the intent!
