Hey

I come up with a fancy idea: glowing blue floor tiles, which could freeze monsters when activated (and possibly freeze Beethro, basically a death, because who is going to unfreeze him ?)
---
Cryo Chambers are floor tiles, which are normally harmless... until a special, fancy-looking switch is activated. A switch of this kind activates all cryo's in the room. To limit (!) puzzle potential and prevent yellow orb deja-vu I suggest that activating a switch once freezes all monsters on cryo tiles, and activating it once more - unfreezes all of them. And so on.

Frozen monsters can be killed effortlessly, except for snakes. Non-snake monsters become, basically, crumbly walls.

A brain can be placed on cryo tiles ! When frozen, the effect is similar to invis potion (the brain doesn't work) - but other monsters still work.

Freezing switch would work just like an orb, (swordable) but look different to prevent confusion.

You can only freeze a serpent if you hit the switch when its head is on cryo tile.

Another pro of this idea is that it could be used to save space, and make some things easier for architects. For instance I'm creating my own hold now (only several rooms complete at this moment) and one of rooms is based on "don't stick your sword where it doesn't belong" concept. Freeze switches would offer me more possibilities.

This concept is VERY compatible with Ember Demon idea... its fireballs could be used for unfreezing single monsters or activating freezeswitch (shameless self-promotion)

Whoa...
I like it.
So if you step on it you basiclly have to restart the room?
Hmmmm...

*STAMP*

I think this could be really good for monster manipulation, where you must stop the puzzle, do something else, then restart it. Perhaps it would be easier if it wore off after 30 turns.

If you freeze yourself, yes It would need a restart I think.

The main point is freezing monsters into certain shapes, to turn brains on/off, to stop a serpent without killing it, etc.
