This would be a third type of potion. Upon drinking it, beethro would be able to float. He can pass over pits, but no matter how hard he tries he will not be able to activate trapdoors (and thus red doors). Roaches and tar babies will leap out onto him if he is next to them while over a pit, but goblins won't. If he is over a pit that is on the square next to tar when it expands (that would spawn onto the space he occupies this turn if not for the pit), he will be caught in the current of the tar flowing over the edge and promptly die.
This has puzzle potential becuase of the fact that, although he does gain flight, he loses the ability to open a red door, and is still vulnerable if flying over small pits (to even more stuff than usual).

Well... this has been mentioned as various types of potions in at least several other feature requests.

I suppose it would be too hard to make a search feture for this forum... Maybe if there was a subdivision for monsters and potions and actual game elements? Then there woulodn't be as many repeated posts. :thumbsup

That probably wouldn't work, because so many requests have different names, and just a few different characteristics. Unless it were done manually....

The closest we have is a "Springboard" (Previously on SF), a tile that propels Beethro into the air for about 3-5 moves (I think).

Basically, he will be able to pass over all land-based objects (I'm not sure about walls, though), although airborne monsters still may cause him trouble.

If he lands on tar, a monster, a pit, or something else hazardous, then he dies.

Ooh, I kind of like the springboard. With the springboard, I think it would offer more puzzle potential if once you picked a direction to go off the spring board, the next 5 moves must be taken in that direction. That would make interesting puzzles where you had to clear an area out on the other side of a pit, and time it so you land nearly dodging enemies.

Well, that sounds like an idea, but what if you landed on a roach egg? One that's not hatched yet? Also what would happen if you rotated your sword in the air? would you still glide along in the air? Can you move your sword in the air? Or does 5 turns just pass as you glide along? :D
