My character is a sorceress. I'm trying to get the Eye from the wizard, but he says I need to get the Shield spell first; he tells me to talk to Angrimm. I talk to Angrimm, but there is no topic for getting the Shield Spell. I give the apple to Angrimm and he moves back to town. Still no topic. Am I blocked?

Can you talk to him about other stuff? Exhaust all the dialog options, there should be one about the secret in the Adventurer's Guild.

You have to ask him about Fornsigtuna in order to unlock the option to ask about the adventurer's guild specifically. You do not even have to ask about anyone specific - just mentioning Fornsigtuna is enough.

There is no outright "ask about the secret" option or "ask about the spell" - asking about the guild gives you the knowledge of the secret stash, it's only by finding the stash that you find the spell.

I'm glad to hear that Aurvandel is wise enough to know what spells you need to take on Egther, though. Good programming/planning on their part.

I have asked him about Fornsigtuna and exhausted every other dialogue option he has, but STILL can't ask about the guild.

He's meant to tell you if you ask him if he can train you or why he left.

However, you can use magic to find it too

I can confirm that the topic about the guildhouse only appears if you ask him in the watchtower. This is a bug and will be fixed in v1.2. In the meantime, as Fizzii states, there is another way to find the cache.
