I don't know why you've got no comments yet. This hold is excellent -- every room is a good puzzle, there's a lot of variety, and the difficulty level is just where I like it :P

My only criticisms have to do with quantity -- I don't know whether 3S2W really needs that many roaches for the intended solution to be enforced, but even holding down + got a bit tedious. 7S1W certainly doesn't need so many checkpoints, and having that many actually gets in the way of their intended purpose -- making it easy to restore to key points in the solution if you go wrong.

I've tried all the rooms now and completed more than half. Favourite room so far... definitely 2S2W. It looked unapprochable at first, then very difficult even after I saw how to approach it, then with a bit of trial and error I managed to get across. I also liked 5S2W because it's much more interesting than it seems at first glance.

6S has a trivial solution -- you forgot that the red sister gate will cut the fuse.

I'm enjoying this! But 7S1W: Why is there an eye looking at the wall in the NE corner? :(

4S1W is the only room I can't solve. Is there something obvious I'm totally missing? It feels like there's a bunch of red herrings...

EDIT: Apparently, the obvious solution is in fact a solution.

Okay, for 4S1W, what I did was simply let the goblin chase me into the serpent's chamber, use it to kill the serpent, and then kill it.

I agree for 1S1W - it was repetitive. Would the solution still be enforced with a smaller area? It wasn't a bad puzzle, per say.

7S1W was considerably easier than the other rooms listed, so if you do keep it I'd recommend moving it closer to the entrance.

Similarly for 6S - there just aren't enough eyes to really make it a challenge.

Pffft - I can't believe I actually missed that for 4S1W! Adding a seep to force you to go into the one section. Should be fixed in new version.

New version in first post here to fix most of the issues. The rooms specified that I'm planning on changing are still there though.

A little late:

1S: For me this room was tricky since I didn't think that trowing a mirror into a pit doesn't count :)


2S: Too easy

2S2E: Very easy, but see nect room :)

2S3E: Well, I had to use paint.net :)

2S2W: Very easy

2S1W: This room is very nice. My firts thoughz was: Why a mirror? ;)

1S1W: A bit tedious. A good candidate for optimizers :)

1S2W: Same

3S1W: The last mirror placement is a bit tricky.

3S2W: Nice red herring :)

4S1W: This room is much more difficult than the others. By far the best so far.

5S2W: the Secret walls are a dead end.

More later...

So far I would say a nice hold for beginners (most rooms).

3S: Nice little room

Entrance: What is the purpose of the secret walls?

3S2E: Needs very careful planning - I like this room. Probably much fun for optimizers :)

1S1E: Surprisingly tricky. Good room.

4S: Nice little puzzle.

4S2W: Played in the editor since the room is inaccessible. This is excellent room. Please repair.

3S1E: Very good room. Lots of red herrings. In my eyes the best room in the hold.

7S: Another candidate for paint.net :) Very easy.

7S1W: No room for me - too much running :)


By the way, I love the placing of checkpoints. In most holds the number and position of checkpoints is idiotic. Here it is ideal for optimizers!

The difficulty of the rooms is somewhat mixed. Some I would rate very easy (2-3) others 5-7.

4S1E: I am not happy with your changes. The room is overladen and ugly. I really liked the previous version, but hadn't noticed the solution without using the gel babies was not intended.

Perhaps you might use it - without any gel baby - as another secret room :)

5S1W: W exit doesn't match entry of 5S2W.

2S2W: When I leave the room through the secret exit without without conquering the room I have to restore.

2S2E, 2S3E: I have no idea what is going on here - there are no monsters in these rooms.

The tar baby room is much better now! And still not too difficult.

I wonder if this is the end :)

Very good. Now the room is simple again - one roach for every plate and nothing else

Edit: 6 seems to be impossible.

You could even reduce the number of babies to 4. However, I am not sure is this is a good idea.

I actually managed to do six before I even released the last version, but I never thought you could do it with seven. I'd like to see that! I thought it was surely impossible! :D

Won't be too many more changes now. I got a challenge planned for TSS, might add a TSS room or two, and perhaps the seven pressure plate challenge as a master wall challenge (changing the one now to six)

There is no 7S2W.

And I've found another problem maybe. It appears the gel babies have to move before the roaches in order for the rooms to work. The gel babies in the secret room may not be done properly.

It was just a warning that room may have been impossible to complete cause I have screwed up the movement order in it. Turns out I had just tinkered with it afterward.

Anyways, it's fine now.

Originally a bonus level in my hold Diamond Dungeon, I have currently decided to release this level as a separate hold.

This hold features a single level with puzzle rooms involving many aspects of mirrors. Essentially, the hold is more or less finished, but I may add one or two rooms if I feel like it.

7S: One square has been removed in the first half.

7S2W: Checkpoints adjusted.

***Challenges: Two shiny new challenges have been added! One of them is just for post-mstery, but the other one is quite a bit more interesting....see if you can complete them.

I wonder who discovered the harder one is solvable :)

I do agree that 3S1E looks worse now. But I don't know how I would make it better. I don't like replacing it with water and/or removing most of the pits and replacing it with walls.

I also don't particularly like the idea of changing room styles now. None of the styles are really jumping out at me at being better overall. Perhaps it's just me.

Anyways, I'm going to be getting all the demos now for the HA process. Basically, any changes now are bound to be purely graphical, and the demos won't be affected.
