There's doesn't seem to be a way to challenge him as a sorceress? Except when I was getting the eye...and when I did it then he refused. Is there some other thing I need to do?

Skrymir will also take one of Liff's talismans, which is the only interesting thing I've got right now as a warrior.

If you talk to other Svartalfar, they will give you clues as to what the metaphors are.

If you're really stuck, here are some indications:
1.
3.

Remember though, you only need two victories to win the whole challenge! So if you can't do the third one, the first and the second are enough, and feasible no matter what your class is.
