icon Heroine's Quest - robbing Snorri's house (0)
When I break into Snorri's house (next to the smithy), I can't get upstairs - either a stair creaks, or I avoid the stairs by climbing, but he still notices me. I tried hiding behind the barrels and waiting until he leaves, but there appears to be a bug - Snorri walks towards the fireplace and disappears, and if I go up the stairs then, the game crashes.

So is there anything else to do there? Is there a point to hiding behind the barrels? Or it's just about stealing the incense, a potion and some money?

Oh, and by the way, has anyone found some use for the incense? And is there a way to break into Lithrasir's house (with the dog guarding it)?

You're meant to rob him while he's still in the house so, the game currently bugs out if you wait until daytime. Do you know what triggers him to go to the fireplace?

So far, I haven't seen anyone solve this in any of the forums.

There's no specific trigger, I guess he just leaves the house at the time he normally does (several hours after morning). Only instead of going to the door, ho goes roughly in the direction of the fireplace and disappears before he reaches it.

So am I correct that hiding behind the barrels serves no purpose at the moment and that there isn't anything else to do there except steal the few things you can find in the main room?

I am playing as a warrior and I need help to be able to break into Snorri's house. I have tried everything I can think of and no luck at all.

I have tried to brake, smash, and pry open the windows and doors. I can't happen to see any other way in and I know from previous posts you are to do it at night. I am very new at these games
so I am trying everything I can think of and so far I am lost lol.

Why do you need to break into Snorri's house as a warrior? What makes you think you're going to achieve anything there?

Warriors have the most straightforward path. Do whatever quests people give you. Rely on brute strength, honor, etc :) When scouring for hints/answers, don't take any notice about other class solutions as they're often all different.

Rogues on the other hand, are meant to be stealthy and tricky and try and achieve things without being seen, hence why they can break into other people's houses.

You need the stealth and thievery skills to do so.

I believe there is a bug in v1.1 preventing this puzzle from being completed. We're going to get this fixed in v1.2.

I tried to update to version 1.2 so that I could rob Snorri's cupboard. Since the file isn't available through the website like version 1.1 was, I had to join steam and download it that way. But this installed it in the special steam way in special steam folders, so I have two parallel versions of the game on my computer.

I would either like to move my save files from the old version to the new version, or somehow just update the old version. This would be better, since I would like to compare my warrior and sorceress end-stats in "Records" (which won't be possible if I move the save file to the new version).

You can move hqrecord.dat from your saved games folder, to retain your records. Unfortunately, saved games from v1.1 do not work in v1.2 and it wasn't possible to update the game and retain save games for this particular update.

hqrecord.dat can be found in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\Heroine's Quest saved games

Oh well. Thanks for the info about how to move the records. I'll just add the points for Snorri in my mind.
