Started Chapter 4 & Norns will not let me leave the forest.
Basically want some reassurance that it is not possible to start Chapter 4 w/o all required items/quests/etc from Svartalfheim or that there is a way to go back if needed. (Magic user, btw.)

If you get both eyes, I believe it'll lock you into the endgame. You can't sleep either, and resting will only take you to Late Night, not beyond.

If that's Chapter 4. I don't remember. Think it was, though. It's titled Savior, right?

Thanks. Yes, Chapter 4 is entitled "Savior".
I will keep looking around & experimenting to figure out what to do next, but I may have to revert to an earlier save.

You have the eyes, so you shouldn't need to return to Svartalfheim.

What situation are you running into that you feel you need to go back?

Nothing in particular, really -- just stuck. I tend to wonder what I'm missing and just didn't know if there were any particular "walking deads"/"dead ends" possible.

(BTW, there is at least one place you can still sleep & pass to morning, RogueIce -- the upper room of the library.)

Ah, so you can. Although when I "slept to dawn" I woke up during "Late Night" of the next day. Seems to want to lock you into night, which of course makes sense, given how things play out.

As for getting to Svartalfheim, there is one way:


I'm guessing this is an oversight though, and now that they've been made aware will probably fix it for 1.1, so enjoy it while it lasts.
