I've done the following:

(1) play and complete the GATEB demo.
(2) download and install the full version in a different directory.
(3) start the full version.

The game now selects my existing player and my existing saved game. However, instead of where I was, I end up in the middle of the wall somewhere, and I can't play further from this point.

Now I solved the issue by exporting my player from the demo, deleting it, and importing this player into the full version; nevertheless, it strikes me as a bug.
