Here is a Java applet implementing the classic Sokoban game with, I assume, original puzzles. There is a high-score table for each level, which makes this particular Sokoban implementation stand out from the usual implementations of the puzzle.

http://www.games4brains.de/sokobluejavaenglisch.php

The high scores look like they are sorted by the number of total moves first, then the number of pushes and then by time taken. I managed to make my way to the lower positions on two easy levels, so there's a lot of room for you to get on the boards too. That was after just a few quick tries too.

Oh, and there are easy and hard levels, which indeed seem to be appropriately named. If you enjoy Sokoban puzzles and the added competitive element given by scoring appeals to you, you might want to play this version.

(I blithely assumed this isn't a double, because there are no nicknames I recognize in the high score tables :-))

Talking about sokoban, I would like to advertise my own Sokoban Web Site http://sokoban.ws

We organize an online sokoban competition. There is a new competition every 6 weeks, and every competition lasts for 3 weeks. Players can join the competition by submitting a solution to the website during that time. The next competition (30th competition) will begin on December 2, and the competition level will be revealed that day. The competition levels are all well-prepared, they are either original or remodeled from the old ones. The competition levels range from difficult to extreme difficult. If you like challenge, please give it a try.

BTW, I have also implemented two version of online Sokoban programs. One is called SokoPlayer (java applet), the other is SokoPlayer HTML5. Both programs can load external levels (in XSB format). Here's the link to the SokoPlayer HTML5:

http://sokoban.ws/sokoplayer/SokoPlayer_HTML5_en.php

It is written in Javascript and uses the HTML5 canvas element. It has many nice features:
- 3 sets of built-in levels
- load external levels of unlimited size
- unlimited undo/redo
- fast enough path-finding for box-pushing
- change of skins
- show ruler and grid
- rotate or mirror the level arbitrarily

I do believe people there use bots to minimize the time, Pekka. As always when time is a factor... I'm glad the DROD highscores don't care about time.

You are right Maurog, but I want to point out that on harder levels there is still plenty of room for optimization, since the best results aren't consistently optimal in moves and pushes. And for example, on Hard 49 and Hard 50 there are only a couple of scores at all, so you'll get listed there just by completing the level, no matter how inefficiently.

I would not have minded seeing the other Sokoban site in a thread of its own either, but if you feel it fits here, that's fine. I'll edit the thread title to tell the readers there's more than one Sokoban site here.

I am new to this forum. So I am very careful about creating a new thread. Thank you for editing the title for this.

I've read the sticky post regarding advertising before. I think what I did is allowed. I didn't create a new thread, I just replied to a related topic so that people who like Sokoban may find my site interesting.

Also, some DROD players had made Sokoban holds for DROD here and here. So my post is not completely irrelevant.
