Apparently the PC and 360 versions are coming out on the same day.

What does an ME1 save do in ME2? Do you get to keep your old crew, ala Baldur's Gate? Will they extend this to choices in the first game effecting the second, like Golden Sun?

Do you think they'll spice up the basic side quest formula in 2? That's my only big complaint with 1 (well, not that big considering they're optional).

They say that every major choice you made will have some type of ramification in ME2.

Ofcourse, you can start fresh, though I am not sure what that would look like, seeing how (SPOILERS)

I'd assume Ashley would be alive. They never kill off the right-wing hawk with sex appeal.

There really arn't that many fans of Ashley, only reason I used her was because she did decent damage.
edit: Then again, Kaiden wasn't all that good either.

I liked Kaiden. He starts with pretty good biotics, and if you level him to take advantage of that fact he can be incredibly useful.

But I heard that in the 360 version you can't give individual movement orders to your squad members, so I'd imagine he'd be significantly less useful with another roadblock in the way of the already problematic pathfinding.

I've been pretty busy lately and haven't been able to do any kind of serious gaming for months (for me, these days 'serious gaming' sadly means picking up a controller/mouse for more than 5 minutes at a time). This week is the first time I heard about NSMB Wii, when Seth pointed it out on the Wii's Nintendo Channel. I watched that teaser video and it looks awesome! I didn't think I'd have much else Wii-related to look forward to in 2009, but now I know what we'll be playing all Christmas vacation. :)

Edit: okay, this thread is about 2010. To stay on-topic, how about "I know what we'll be doing on New Year's Day too" :P

Even though it is coming out in 2009, I just have to point out Scribblenauts, a fresh take on the puzzle genre that uses true logic versus a set solution.

That game looks like one gigantic gimmick though.

*sigh* Not the gimmick discussion again!
I think I'm going to have to get that game. Whether or not it's a gimmick, it looks awesome!

I am looking forward towards passing the first year on Gdansk's Polytechnic I guess, if that counts.
Other than that all the games I will make then, and maybe my first shareware production? (yea, I am totally egoistical today!) :)

Do you have ideas of what you would make?

Hmm. For the shareware game it will most likely be a metroid-like, climatic and dark exploration-platformer-semiadventure-shooter. As for usual freeware stuff it is difficult to say. I have a couple of projects planned already, but most of them will end up being done this year. But I will strive to finally make my Poing remake before the end of 2010 and try to turn myself a bit more towards action games rather than logical ones.

You say gimmick like it's a bad thing.

Thomas Pynchon is releasing a new book next month, and it isn't historical fiction, it's a parody. Let that sink in: the last time Thomas Pynchon wrote a parody, he almost won a Pulitzer Prize (the entire committee for that particular award for fiction all voted for him unanimously, but the rest of the board overturned them, just the sort of thing that can make you stop writing for 30 years) and the book is, to this day, considered the greatest American novel of the 20th century. It's also the only book I know that combines semen, Nazis, bananas, elephants, octopi, surrealist hallucinations involving generous amounts of fecal matter and Malcolm X in a truly meaningful way.
