Whenever people talk about moral decay, I like to mention that women have more rights now than ever before, ordinary people take care to ensure enviromental sustainability, more and more drugs that were considered acceptable are increasingly unacceptable and the ruling class are more accountable now than ever before. But then, I've kind of adopted the shorthand of "
moral decay"
meaning "
falling religious followers"
.
I can't help but think that pornography will have its day in the sun as the vice of the moment, and then people will notice that porno models are kinda icky and get all uncomfortable about objectifying
that. It'll come, though.
(I figure the rise of porno came with the demand for women to be not treated as sex objects, as an outlet for men incapable of doing that 24/7. As this is a relatively new thing, I figure that eventually this drive will be curtailed, either by biological or social means, much better than it currently is, which seems to be a confusion that men seem to need an outlet in the first place.)
