I stopped reading this thread when I realized it was people snarking about people snarking about people downmodding people for snarking.

In that vein, this thread is now about implementing a random button that lets me spend 5 mod points to randomly throw either +2/-2 points onto a post, but only once per post.

I think this would be great and I would mod every post /ever/ in this form until I ran out of mod points.

I would then steal Oneiromancer's password and do it to the rest of them.

I wish people stopped using that word. It doesn't mean what you think it means!

Nobody has ever modded posts up or down randomly in the history of this forum.
Randomly would be generating a random number then modding the post which happens to have that number. What you really mean is you personally don't understand the reason. Concluding from this that a reason doesn't exist is a logical fallacy. Argumentum ad ignorantiam is fail!

Also, the entire upmod/downmod script is like 5-10 lines. If the people in charge thought "random" mods are a problem, implementing any of the 5-10 suggested solutions would take 5-10 minutes at most. Seen as no such changes were implemented in the last 5-10 years, it is clear that the only reasonable thing to do is starting 5-10 threads about the subject, each.
