I assume most of you know about the previous XP system. If you don't, it doesn't matter. It got a nice spit-shine, and few more things squeezed in, and a separation from something. Specifically:
* User menu (use the Special Command key) which has:
** Your level,
** Amount of XP you have / Amount of XP you need for level up, and
** The total amount of XP you've gotten in the game.

* Changing XP needed for level (starts low, but can get pretty high if you have a lot of strong monsters),
* Removed reliability on your REP (enemy REP is still used though),
* and instant level up (you don't need to wait a turn to level).

I think it came out pretty well. Try it out! :smile

Hmm... now I need to make a tactical combat system.

Yeah, you do that while I work on traits (stolen shamelessly from DoomRL :P). I was doing that (the traits), but then I got distracted by chat logs (why not screw around with them with regular expressions? :D) and, well, yeah.

But now that I screwed them up beyond recognitiongot bored with that, I guess I can finally get my priorities crookedstraight again.

Hmm... Well, I tried. But the monsters aren't halting combat correctly when I make them unhittable (and unable to hit).

Eh, I'd just pseudo it and make attack 0 - sword strength (oh, the pleasures of if statements) and defense 10000. Until you can get a better solution, might as well fake it. :rolleyes

Edit: Of course, stuff like _EnemyHP and whatnot would still initialize, so the XP system would have to change to ignore _EnemyREP while in 'solid ghost' mode.
Hmm... solid ghost... I like how that sounds. :D

Or, better yet, I could use Imperative Safe.

Edit: Pseudoing isn't working how I would have hoped... but I can use Imperative Safe on Each Attack?

Edit again: Well, that was easy. But questions don't seem to work during combat. Ah well.

  Each defend Halt
  Go to End
Label Halt
  Imperative 6
  Wait 0
  Imperative 7
  Go to End
Label End

Gah, the problem that's really jarring me is having enough defense to not be hurt by a monster, but not enough attack to hurt him, which results in free XP. Try it for yourself. It works.
Plus, there's the (albeit not as jarring, but still annoying) fact that there's a delay in between each question in a string of questions makes you lose XP if you kill anything between the gaps with my trait system. And you can't kill two or more things in a row, or you only get XP for the first one.
Hold on, I'm making a feature request or two.
