If you have a pillar in a pit, shadow is cast on the pit by the bottom edge of the pillar, but not the side edge, making for an awkward looking shadow. Voids is exempt from this bug, as the statues don't cast shadows over a pit.

Edit: It's all wall segments, not just pillars. Having a shadow cast on only one side just looks a little bizarre.
