Would it be possible to have an option of letting 4x4 squares become all tar babies in certain rooms? That would help alot for all mazes with tar overtop of them???

I think that would remove a lot of the malicious nature of tar mazes, which is the only reason I can imagine someone would design one of those POS levels. That being said, it should be up to the architect to work around the behavior of tar if they want their maze easier, rather than for the game to change for the architect. I personally will just never cover walls in my holds with tar, unless it's for a much better reason than making Beethro wend his way through a maze.

I've been known to cover walls with tar, but only in a predictable manner, or when it's necessary for that particular puzzle. There's a nicely predictable tar maze in Reubus, and something similar in the hold I'm now working on in high secrecy... incidentally, none of you actually read that. Even so, it's possible to strand tar babies on walls, which would actually make the tar mazes more malicious.

Now, if you're talking about the ability to detect if you're cutting in to a perfect square and if so to change everything it contains in to tar babies, that could grow in to a good idea.
