my first hold
hard to tell how difficult it is when you know how to do it

the east and west rows are attempts at creating different puzzles in the same rooms
not sure how well that comes off in the end

edit: added a second level
added 3 rooms to the first level
decreased the difficulty of the entrance sort of
it is now easier before you free the queens
maybe harder to catch them after
fixed a bug

some of the puzzles can be solved in easier ways than intended to maintain the similarity of the rooms but I think I have eliminated most of the trivial solutions

Its hard I am still struggling with the entrance. Every time I start to make some progress I die. I know what to do just having trouble doing it.

funny thing is this is not the original entrance
changed it because I thought 1N was too complicated for an entrance
I guess subconciously I just wanted not to make an easy entrance

I'm really enjoying this hold. So far I've done the entrance, 1N, 1W, 1N1W, 2N1W.

I nearly did 1N1E, then stuffed it up at the very last moment. This room and 1W are slightly annoying since there aren't any checkpoints (although it would be hard to put them in as Beethro only has a tiny area to work with) and you can die at the last moment.

But looking good from what I've done..

yeah I thought about a check point for those rooms but had no where to put them where you wouldn't end up stepping on it every 5 or 6 moves
I think I will move the second one in the entrance closer to the north wall I am finding it useless where it is

the general post about inspiration convinced me to go back and look at this
so here it is a new version
with a second level
which again has matching left and right rooms with different puzzles around a central column

edit:
I had to make a small change on level 2 room 2s1w
I had only platyed it through the editor
when I played it in the game the timing had changed by 1 move
I backed the snake up 1 square
reattached the hold above

I've finished the hold and I think it extremely good. The difficulty is just right, the puzzles varied and fun. The symetry works very well.

I did not find any problem on level 1. The entrance is now much easier than in the first version and I think it is a good thing. You could maybe put a checkpoint in each corner of Beethro's room in 1N1E.

I enjoyed level 2 even more than level 1. I particularly like the fact that you're going through the rooms several through different passages.

In the entrance, it is possible to clear the tar next to the checkpoint after having dealt with the first bit of tar, if you don't strike the orb immediately. I'm not sure it intended.

In 1W and 1E, you should make it possible to bypass the red doors once the rooms have been beaten as they are the only access to 2S1W and 2S1E respectively. I particularly liked the trapdoor puzzle in 1W, it is far from trivial.

I must have the first version of 2S1W as after having dropped all trapdoors and been through the snake room, I was always 1 round too short to stop the third tar growth. But I finally found a way to beat it. I just didn't worry about the trapdoors at all as it is possible to do them at the end because of the breakable walls.
I've beaten 2S1E the intended way but I'm sure it is possible to do the same. What those two rooms need is a checkpoint (particularly 2S1E as there's quite a horde of roaches to fight), between the snake and the tar would be good.

Similarly 1S1W needs a checkpoint, near the entrance to the snake rooms.

I was surprised there was no snakes in 1S1E. I would have thought one of the goblins would have been ideal to get rid of them.

The exit stair bug has striked again in the first version of level 2. I haven't tested your latest version.

I have demos for all the rooms if you're interested. I don't think there is any trivial solution to any of them.

oh no!
I see what you mean about the entrance
that allows you to skip the whole bottom piece completely
not good
I will have to think of a way to fix it

I will add the checkpoints you asked for
and I will change 1 square in each of those red doors to green

I will test making the trapdoor at the bottom of 2s1e and 2s1w only a 1 square passage so you can't go back now that I fixed the timing

there are no snakes because I hide from the goblins in those rooms I'm not good at handling 4 free goblins at once

the stairs was not the bug
I had been working on a 3rd level but deleted it when I posted the hold I never redirected the stairs
I guess they move back to the start when their target no longer exists

I would love to see the demos

Something I've noticed while going back through the hold to export the demos:
In Level 1, 1N1E, you ought to have a green door to bypass the mimic when entering from the west. It's not essential, it just make it easier to navigate through the level once all completed.

In the demos I've sent you, you'll see an example of how to easily deal with the goblins one or two at a time. Another possibility would be to block three of them in the queen's force arrow and use the fourth one to deal with the snakes. I've created a demo for that if you're interested.
If you add the snake to 1S1E then, please, also add a checkpoint.

Regarding 2S1E and 2S1W, rather than modifying the trapdoors why not remove the breakable walls. I'm not sure what their purpose is.

you must free the wraithwings and still get through the snake on time

2n1w you killed way too much tar made it much longer than necessary
1w you did exactly as I intended it :thumbsup
the entrance a funny thing happened
it says it is a victory demo but you die???
1 south never used that corner move on a goblin before

can't watch any of the level 2 demos
I can only import the entrance and since |I| changed that room slightly (added a force arrow to keep you from going back through the middle) it doesn't work
very funny to watch though

no the entrance demo is supposed to a victory demo
it is not the wrong one it just isn't working right

level 2 demos don't work because I made changes to the rooms
I will download my hold from here and watch the in that copy tonite
