Having not played for a while, I felt it would be handy to have a "sort by date" option so I could play the most recent holds without having to look down the list and potentially miss some holds which hadn't been commented on much since their release.

It would be good to have in-game or on the Holds board, but there is an option available now: http://forum.caravelgames.com/holds.php

You might as well implement other orderings, that are available in the holds' download section. I believe, that this can be implemented easiest by using two listboxes with "Sort criteria" and "Sort direction". Just like in hold management screen.
