Yes, that's right. Chu-chu. If anyone ever played ChuChu Rocket you'll know what I mean.

An alternative name would be Clockwork Mimic.

Here's what I think.

This little thing starts as a potion. When you grab it, it's placed like a mimic, but with one(possible) difference: you might be able to rotate it.

It can only travel on non-diagonals, so it's a little like a serpent.

It moves one square in the direction it's moving per turn, and turns only when it hits a wall. It always turns RIGHT(unless turning right would make it face into a wall, then it turns left, unless that would make it face into a wall, then it turns around 180 degrees), and can drop trapdoors and toggle orbs. It walks on force arrows(but obeys them), and I'll let the dev team decide if they want it to walk over potions. It can't harm or be harmed by monsters.

Many a puzzle could center around placing a Chuchu in the right spot in a closed-off area, possibly having it drop trap doors and having the player hit the right orbs at the right time for it to keep going.

Yes, it's a little un-DROD-like. Read and review, please!

What if it bumps into a monster?

What of stable tar?

By "walls", do you also include pits and statues and doors?

Does the sword point in the direction that it is moving? If it turns, does it take two turns to get to the new direction?

That's all for now.

1-3. It treats anything a mimic or beethro can't move through as a wall.

4. No. It has no sword; it's a little mousy thing in my mind. It's not designed to attack. As to turning: How many turns does a serpent take to turn?

It can be killed by your sword, or by a mimic's sword.

The chu-chu that was placed first gets move priority, but if two collide then they both turn.(Possibly the chu that was placed first moves and turns first but if a chu is bumped by something it turns?)

By the way, unless it's too much trouble, I'd like this not to be required dead for the room to be cleared. If it is then I'm also suggesting a "spikes" tile that kills anything that's killable by a sword.

Aah, I see. It's a little clockwork bunny or something funnier that hits orbs and drops trapdoors. I can see some puzzles coming from that.

How does it hit orbs if it has no sword?

The 'Neather doesn't have a sword, and he hit orbs. :P

But, this spawned another question (or two) for me. Can it hit orbs diagonally, or does it have to "run into" an orb to hit it?

Actually, how does it hit orbs? Does it have a 9-space square around it that activates orbs?

It has to run into the orbs to hit them. By the way, The_Red_Hawk, why did you change your avatar?

I felt like my current avatar and signature were getting old. I like the new ones better anyways.

Besides, levelthirteen changes his avatar all the time. Why don't you ask him too? ;)

Thanks! I was hoping someone would like it.

I only changed it a couple of hours ago, and people are noticing already. :)

It's not so much that it's dead as it's been discussed. It has been noted.

A dead idea is one that draws no comments at all.
