An idea: User created lists of rooms.

Players can
* create lists
* add rooms/levels/holds to their lists
* look at which rooms are on other people's lists
* see which lists a given room is on.

The simplest use of this is for players to have lists of their favourite/trickiest rooms, but more interesting ideas are certainly possible - 'tar clearing', 'rooms where Beethro spins about', 'multiple mimics', 'architect's seal' - whatever ideas people can come up with.

The point: Not much, just a nifty thing, really.
A small ego-boost for architects when their room gets favourited by someone.
Or if someone likes the style of a room, a list of similar rooms would be a handy suggestion on what to play next.

Oooh, nifty. I think that'd be a great idea. Though I'd actually split it into two separate things--a way of setting up personal lists, and a way of setting up publically-maintained lists. It sees silly for different people to maintain a "spinning-mimic" list, or for, say, me to keep the standard list and then no one else be able to update it if I miss a room.

Identical lists is probably something that can be dealt if it's a problem - but I don't think it will be. It's silly but it won't be an inconvenience.

If it does become necessary to do something, certain lists can be designated as 'official lists' (by someone). The person who created them would still be responsible for maintaining them, and ownership could be transferred if that person disappears. There's also always PMs etc if they miss a room.

Or official lists could be maintained by official people, but I prefer the idea with less beurocracy. :/

Depends on how easy it is to skim lists--I could easily start a list of mimic-spinning rooms, only to discover that Chaco has a list; and while it's not an inconvenience per se, I'll be irritated to learn that I've wasted my time in compiling one.

Certainly--it's just that it seems so much easier to have them group-modifiable.

Group modifiable has the possibility of people getting into adding/deleting arguments (unlikely in this community, but still), however reading the 'quantifying drod' thread has got me considering the benefits, so at the moment I am on the fence.

I think the proof of the pudding will be making it first to see how popular it is.

To the General board!

*whoosh!*
