Wow! We got a lot of entries, so I'm splitting them up into four leagues of ten. You may vote in as many, or as few, leagues as you like, but please, make sure you pick a score for every entry in the league/s you've voted in.

The top four entries from each league will go through into a 16-member battle royale for your hearts. Cheer on your favourite!

You may use any scheme you like to come to a decision (I'm personally expecting some to rank them, giving the wittiest 10 and the lamest 1), unless your entry is in this league. In that case, you must vote 10 for your entry and judge the other entries on their merits.

The other leagues are:
Vermillion
Malachite
Fuchsia

It would be even better if the names of the four leagues formed an acronym too. (Disregard this message if "favm" is a word that I just haven't heard of.)

Also, the "Vermillion" link leads to the Azure page, and vice versa. Not that big a deal, really, but I thought I should point it out in the interest of flawless consistency.

That'd give the leagues an order, and that's something I wanted to avoid because then people who only wanted to vote in one would jump in the first one.

This suggests I need to scramble the league names in each post. I guess because I have to edit them anyway....

I'm really suprised mine got so low. At one point it was actually the highest scoring. Why did so many people give Diabolical Ruses of Obliquitous Designers a two? Did I use too fancy a word?

Well personally I voted the entries based on how appropriate they would be to actually replace "Deadly Rooms of Death". I would feel a little weird telling someone I play a game called "Diabolical Ruses of Obliquitous Designers"...

'Oblique' would probably have sufficed, but I gave it a 7 precisely because the coinage of 'obliquitous' amused me.

Nope. It's the adjective form of "obliquity", and while the form "obliquitous" doesn't appear in Merriam-Webster, it does appear in the American Heritage Dictionary. It does derive from "oblique", but "ubiquitous" has nothing to do with it; they just share the same standard adjectival ending.

One of its meaning is aberrant or abnormal, which is how I took it and why I gave that entry a 9.
