Okay, next one:
1) A (mostly) unlucky romancer.
2) A hitman.

I thought it might. I was reluctant to use the word "juror" for obvious reasons, but I wasn't sure how many people know what a legal finder of fact is.

Ah, well. I was kind of hoping mine would go fast to up the pace of the game a bit.

Edit: Although, I had Serendipity in mind for #1.

2) A hypochondriac robber
3) A corrupted icon

[EDIT: I'm probably AFK until Monday evening, unless I can get net connectivity on the Cape.]

So, did I make it too difficult? Perhaps I will enhance these hints.

1) A monochromatic, absent barber
2) A hypochondriac robber caught in a love triangle
3) A corrupted icon in a holiday season

That was it. Znirk's guess for the first movie was also correct.

Try this one.

1. An insufferable doctor
2. A pompous governor
3. An aged scientist planning to commit suicide

Well, that was fast. Of course he is a rather well known actor.

I thought about listing "a reverend" (from The Dead Zone) rather than the scientist, but then all the hints would have been fairly generic and would probably have more easily applied to other actors. (Especially since I haven't seen The Dead Zone enough to elaborate more on that clue. And any additional information on Winchester would just make that one all too obvious.)

Just curious, but which clue was the biggest tip-off?

The Star Trek one was the biggest tip off for me.

Here's mine:

1. A man trying to assasinate the president
2. A folk singer
3. A holy man

For some reason, I keep thinking John Malkovich, but pretty much only on the strength of the first movie:

1) In the Line of Fire
2)
3)

Can't figure anyone out who works better than that.

Josh

Well, I don't know about "a folk singer," but Malkovich was a holy man in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Nope, not looking for John Malkovich.

I'll add a little bit more detail:

1. A man trying to assasinate the president
2. A real life folk singer
3. A holy man in exile

Okay, how 'bout Willie Nelson?

1. **Not sure**
2. Any time he appears as himself (i.e. "Mr. Monk and the Red Headed Stranger" or Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me)
3. Red Headed Stranger (I haven't seen the movie, but I understand the song is about a reverend on the run from the law for killing his wife.)

Nope, not Willie Nelson. And to clarify, the actor in question is not an actual real life folk singer, but PLAYED a real life folk singer in a biography.

Is it David Carradine?

1. A man trying to assasinate the president - ? Death Race 2000? (although from what I've read, his character Frankenstein wasn't in on the plot to kill "Mr. President.")
2. A real life folk singer - Woody Guthrie in Bound for Glory
3. A holy man in exile - ?? no idea

Wouldn't his character in 'Kung Fu' qualify there?

Yes, it's David Carradine. The Frankenstein character is not involved with the rebels, but the rebels' plot is only to kidnap Frankenstein and use him as a bargaining chip to get the race ended. Frankenstein is involved in a completely separate plot to kill the president. He has a grenade implanted in his hand, and the idea is for him to win the race because he will be congratulated by the president himself afterwards, at which time he will detonate the grenade. And Hikari is correct about Kung Fu being what I had in mind for the 3rd hint.

Oops. Forgot to check this. (And -- *forehead smack* -- can't believe I missed the most obvious of the Carradine films.)

Here goes:

1. A doctor in love with a teacher
2. A killer in love with a potential victim
3. A film maker in love with his brother's girlfriend

(Note: I might be stretching the definition of "love" in some cases... just for the symmetry.)

Hmm... thought this would be easy.

1. A doctor in love with a kindergarten teacher
2. A step-father-killer in love with a potential victim
3. A stoner film maker in love with his brother's girlfriend
and a new one...
4. A law student in love with a blonde

This would be Luke Wilson, I think...

1. Rushmore
2. ???
3. ???
4. Legally Blonde

I actually watched The Family Stone recently, and the fact that Luke Wilson played a filmmaker in that movie just went over my head.

2. An arrogant student who witnesses the death of his master
3. A frustrated poet in love with a dancer
