this one doesn't crash the game, but i think it would be good to know about. i checked my progress in the whole game to find the last rooms to play. in Undercity i used the scrolling function for the mini map. and: ...TaTaaaa! those orange stripes where appearing while i used the up-and-down scrolling. screenshoot attached.

i using TCB 3.0.0 on a P4 WinXP System, 3,6GHz with 1GB RAM.

Already fixed in 3.0.2 - make sure you always test a bug with the latest update...

yeap, you're right with this, but since i read about all the crashes with the 3.0.2 patch i stayed by 3.0.0

In that case, make a copy of your TCB folder, patch up, test it, then delete your TCB folder and replace it with the copy you made...

(EDIT: On Windows, that is - if you're using Linux or Mac OS X you'll have to make a backup of the .drod (IIRC) folder in your home directory as well, since 3.0.2 substantially changes your data files...)

Actually, on Linux (and presumably Mac, since they're both Unices), the drod-tcb/drod-tcb-demo folder is completely unchanged, and it doesn't matter if it's not writable (on a global system install, this is nessecary). The only folder that needs backing up is ~/.caravel/game-name.

Yeah, but I still think just copying the install directory, deleting the patched one and renaming the copy back is faster than re-installing the game...

OT: Also, who needs apt-get when there's dpkg, cpio and ar?
