I'm not sure if someone's mentioned this yet.

I was playing my hold when I found a change that I needed...
I went back to the editor and made the change, but when I restored I had to go back a couple of rooms. Is this normal?

Yes, we do this to avoid problems in the saved games caused by them not working after a change in the editor.
