I was thinking of a vampire,
It can fly over pits,
And eat other monsters,
Dies when near sword,
Example:
xxVxx
xxSxx
xxBxx=
Die
---------------------------------
S=Sword
B=Beethro
V= Vampire
---------------------------------

But if...
xxVxx
xSxxx
Bxxxx
Will not kill the vampire unless going to go in the vampire it will be dead!

I am not particularly for or against this idea, but could you at least give us an idea how it would move?

Hey great!
The vampire will become a vampire bat in 30 turns and will turn back to a vampire at the next 30 turns,
A vampire bat will move like a brained wraithwing!

Is this a parody of some sort, by any chance?

Seriously though, there's one idea I like in this whole thing. Having a monster that dies just by being near a sword. But you'd need a good way to make them rush you from multiple directions.

I'm not sure if this would work. While fighting goblins, I often end up in this position:
G
.
|
B

Where G is a goblin, . is floor, | is your sword, and B is beethro.

But, since Beethro moves before the monsters, stepping north would kill a vampire in the same position (as would stepping NW or NE). To me, this seems much to simple to kill to be of any use.

I do like the basic principle, however.

Well i was thinking that it will move like a Roach queen!
Also...
I was thinking that in both forms,
They can only bite beethro once.
There is a potion that cures a bite.
If a bite lasts for 30 turns he will die unless in other room.
Once beethro is bit he cannot be bit again!

Hmm... I like the bite idea, and I think the better AI will be : Runs toward Beethro - Bite him - Run away from him - If Beethro Takes a Potion - Runs towar.... etc... etc...

Yeah,
If they had a vampire in a dungoen,
That fits the theme,
Because there is some darkness in dungoens!
So i think there should be a new game of DROD,
DROD: The Vampires secert!
EDIT: This could be in many puzzles!

I do NOT think that they will make DROD 4 about that (and I wouldn't like it if they did).
Besides, they'd probably change the name.

No, I'm serious. You don't really get how the forum rolls, that's understandable, but all you're honestly doing with the path you're taking is pretty much irritating people. I heartily suggest you just sit back for a bit, relax, see how things work, and then try again.

And by a bit, I really mean like in the context of a week or two. Or something. Just read.

maybe in vampire form it moves like a goblin, in bat form like a wraithwring? And it can team up with wraithrings or something? But i think that beethro should die if bitten once.

One thing I don't get:
Would the vampire have to hit Beethro, or just be near him?

Ex.
___
B-Beethro
S-Space
V-Vampire
|-Sword
___
V|
SB

Would that be enough to kill Beethro?

Edit: Otherwise, it would be too ordinary than original.
Edit 2.0:Assuming the vampire would kill Beethro instantly.:smile

You know, as much as I share that sentiment - this thread is just a wee bit over 2 months old, and duplicates are best avoided in the Feature Request forum.

So I'd say this mini-bump was the best choice he could make...
