Another minor bug, but one I did notice. It did take more than a year to notice, so make this a very very minor bug

If the text for a link is a link itself, the url=link gets handled by the browser and you get a visible starting tag.

Example:
[url www.example.link www.example.link

Probably a forum software bug but it threw me first time as I was trying to find the missing bracket.

Yup. I've complained about this many times and all I get is a "can't reproduce" error from the monkey.

Yes - and a slightly different issue, but still slightly annoying: (for example) as far as I can tell, there is no way to create a URL linking to the profile of the user "Radiant!".

Attempt:

[url=http://forum.caravelgames.com/member.php?Action=viewprofile&username=Radiant!]Radiant!

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the "!" in the URL. I seem to recall that there are other characters it doesn't like as well, but I can't recall which right now.

I think I know what the problem is. A link only displays properly if it does not contain an "=" and does contain a protocol http://, mailto:, ftp://). Presumably it's looking for a colon. I discovered this making a post today. Compare:

No protocol
Protocol

EDIT: Now it works. Maybe:

forum.caravelgames.com
forum.caravelgames.com
[url=forum.caravelgames.com www.caravelgames.com
[url=http://forum.caravelgames.com www.caravelgames.com

Oh, it's because the forum software parses the url inside the tag as an auto-url. Maybe you should make it so that auto-url-parsing does not occur within url tags.

If anyone is getting annoyed at the way the forum sometimes mucks up the links, a quick workaround is to use tinyurl.
