Have I missed anything? I turned down a chance to see it a couple of weeks ago as I didn't really fancy the rotoscoping.
I read the book last year. It is a sad, sad, tale. I saw some brief parts from the movie throughout and it seems a faithful conversion, but don't take my word for it.
Well, I plan on getting the book now that I saw it, but I really liked the movie - okay, being an anime fan might help with liking the rotoscoping....
Still, it's a sad tale that actually has quite a few funny scenes throughout; mostly due to the amount of drugs the characters in the movie are on most of the time - until the ending (subtle as it is) hits...
(Fun fact: during the ending credits "
Black Swan"
from Thom Yorke (Radiohead's frontman) is being played - the day before I watched the first volume of "
Ergo Proxy"
, which had Radiohead's "
Paranoid Android"
during the credits; and yes, that was purely coincidental...
