I was playing with the sound off (listening to music), when I noticed that Beethro still makes sound if he dies or clears a room. It's not disturbing or game breaking, but I thought that these would both count as sound effects, and they're apparently not.

I'm playing 2.0.14, on a Windows XP.

All the sounds Beethro makes are classified as "voices". I can see why this is so, but I agree that for practical purposes, it'd be best to have them be controlled by the sounds bar.

I had the voices off too. All things related to sound, I had (and have) off.

You can always edit the sounds out of your .ini file, I suppose.

...or start the game with the "nosound" parameter.

I'm a bit confused. Wasn't the bug originally to do with Tim hearing death and completion sounds even with the voices supposedly turned off?

I've tested this too in 2.0.14, but I can't seem to reproduce the bug. For me, turning off the voices turns off the death and completion sound effects. Could you repeat exactly what you did to make the bug happen, and record exactly what sound settings you were (or are) using?

That was the original bug, yes. And now it seems to have gone and fixed itself. I can't reproduce it, which is weird. Because it was happening all the time yesterday.

Maybe my .err file has some info. So I'll attach it here.

Yes, but he had only turned off sound in-game. The "nosound" parameter prevents the program from loading any sound driver...
which should be more effective, to say the least.

I've always had all sounds turned off in-game, and have never heard erm... any sounds.

Strange glitch
