If it's possible to have graphics for characters and styles includeable in holds, could there be some sort of function that allows a player to designate a monster as "non-canonical" and have it be included in a hold file?
This, of course, would have to be in the code (the non-canonical thing).

The only way to do that ATM(no idea if this will be included in TCB) is to hack the DROD 2.0 engine, and release your own version of it.

As a feature request, I would say that this feature is more for a SDK than a level editor.

Or, simply download the latest version of the source.... :)

Haven't we already gone over the ability to modify monster graphics in the holds?

Yes, but he's not saying "new graphics"; what he wants to include a new monster, with different behavior, in a hold.

Hooo, boy.

That's not a good idea. Especially since I know that you're talking about a serpent-type monster.

You do realize that C++ isn't scripted, right?

Why does that make a difference?

Including the full DROD executable with a hold just to implement new monster behaviour is a bit much, don't you think?

(Nevermind all the extra bandwidth and work needed to supply (and support) patches for each of those changed versions... :huh)

I wouldn't think you would need that.
Wait...
I keep thinking that you don't need to compile things to get them to work.
I'll just go away now.
