Yes, an alpha-numeric string is a sequence of characters A-Z, a-z or 0-9. My string has 1,000 of those characters.

Well, if you tell us higher or lower and we do it right we should be able to guess it in 5955 or so tries :)

That's assuming there's some intuitive way to order the possibilities. I suppose you could treat it as a base 62 number...
