EDIT: Also, renaming a Windows BMP file to JPG does *not*, I repeat, *not* automagically make it a JPEG. It's still waaay-too-freaking-huge, and still a BMP file on the inside.
Try actually using a graphics program like IrfanView, The Gimp or, heaven forbid, MS Pain for that.
