"Hell is for children, Hell is for children,
You shouldn't have to pay for you love with your bones and your flesh. Hell is for children, because you know that their little lives will become such a mess.
Your daddy's little girl, don't tell mommy a thing.
Be a good little boy, and you'll get a new toy. Tell Grandma you fell of the swing.
Because, Hell, Hell is for children"

Ummm... did you read the rules?

You've gotta guess someone else's quote, then you do a quote. Then someone else guesses and off we go.

I'm not sure whose turn it is, because they have to do a quote.

Matt

Don't worry about it too much...in fact, the song you chose would have been a very good addition. Just think of it as a learning experience and maybe soon you'll guess someone's quote and be able to post one of your own.

They're really saying
I love you

Matt, who'll hold off quoting if someone else knows the artist as well

I think Louis Armstrong was the originator of this song... But like most old jazz songs, it was done by many, many people.

Let's Dance by David Bowie

Back with a quote in a minute...

...okay, here you go:

You know that what you eat you are
But what is sweet now
Turns so sour

That's the lyric I want to give, but here's the next two lines as a hint, which should place the band if not necessarily the song (which is kind of obscure I know):

I'm impressed. Not so much that you got the title, but that you got Peter Wood's name too. As Michael Caine would say, (but never actually said), "Not many people know that!"

If you really hated the first movie, you might like the other two. They have little in common in either style or plot. Only the characters and settings are the same.

To be honest, I didn't see the third one, so the above comments are based on my impressions of the first and on what I've heard about the third.

Well, it was more like, I thought the first one was okay, and then I found out that people really, really, liked it and thought it was totally deep when in reality it was so derivative of other, better, science fiction out there that I decided that I just didn't like it after all and that I would refuse to see the later ones. And even though I am being totally silly I still probably won't ever see them, even on DVD. I'm not good at seeing movies, the only exceptions in recent years being the Lord of the Rings movies. I just bought the Two Towers Extended Edition last week, and I will definitely watch it before the third one come out, but I'm in no hurry. No, I'm not the movie fan I once was. I think I lost my innocence when I saw the midnight showing of The Phantom Menace. Fortunately someone else waited in line for me or I might have been really affected.

Heh - I'm not that much of a fan of Star Wars. I never saw what everyone else saw in it.

I mean, they're okay, but Indy gets my goat off much better, for one thing.

I loved the original Star Wars Trilogy. I look back on it now, and I realize that I loved it so much because I was a kid when they came out. I still think they're good movies, but I don't go crazy over them anymore. Hell of a lot better than anything Star Trek, though. I guess I should add my flame retardant armor: In My Humble Opinion.

And Indiana Jones is great too. I am really hoping to get the new DVD boxed set for Xmas this year.

Funny thing is, as a kid, I didn't really like star wars. It was ok, but didn't really excite me - I think my favourite movies, until I was 12 or 13, were all movies that had children my age as the protagonists - I really liked movies where I could place myself in the world, and I just didn't identify with adults.

As a teen, I came to appreciate Star Wars a lot more, but was never a fanatic. Episode I, however, had me really excited, not because of devotion to the series but because I just had the same expectation everyone had: all the fun of the original, better effects. Oh well, I guess one out of two isn't that bad.
