Ah yes, I forgot how well covered that song was. My favorite is the Doors version, although I figured that the Thoroughgood version was the most well known.
But that's beside the point. We are not on a forum for classic rock songs, we are on a forum for a great puzzle game. This thread is just to have a little fun. I have posted lots of songs that no one has gotten. Perhaps you would have, had you been around back then. But since they were too obscure for the average puzzle gamer, I try to choose easier ones now, if possible. This thread is more about the fun than the challenge, I think.
Also...To clearify...
The Songs I posted were "
When I paint my masterpeice"
by bob dylan...but neil young did it, and countless others...
The second quote is Waters of March, done by oh 30 people or so...
Well, I admit that most of my classic rock exposure is through what's played on the radio, although because of that I have bought many CDs and grown to appreciate the lesser known songs rather than the ones overplayed on the radio. I have still never heard of those songs. I'm not too big a fan of Bob Dylan, although I like it when people cover him. I do like Neil Young a lot but I have never heard him do that dong. And I also don't like The Grateful Dead, for what it's worth. (Although I did like it when Bruce Hornsby did I Know You Rider for The Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.)
BTW please don't try to tell me what I meant when I said fag...
a fag is a cigarrete...if I had added "get" to the end of it, then it would be offensive...
Well, perhaps if you had used it in a more appropriate context, we wouldn't be so confused. Since you obviously know what we are talking about, you probably knew that what you said could be misconstrued. It just seems to everyone that you are playing innocent just because the word can have a double meaning. But context is important...and when I see what you wrote, "
cigarette"
is definitely not the first thing that comes to mind. Especially because ZZ Top is pretty well know for their "
sexy"
videos and their songs about sex, which is not exactly directly related to cigarettes (indirectly, perhaps). And therefore one could disparagingly think that their obsession with heterosexual images is hiding their true orientations. Thus, the definition of "
fag"
that we think you are using is the reasonable one in practically anyone's experience.
Game on,
