This topic is for anyone who wants to post puzzles that are like jumping snake puzzles, but with diffrent rules. If you post a puzzle, make sure you say which set of rules you are using. If people post variants, I'll try to make a list of all new rulesets on this top post, so additional puzzles with the same rules can just name the rules.
Variants List:
Open Snakes (aka Snakes on an Infinite Plane):
RULES:

×In this set of rules, snakes move exactly as in the
original (link).
The differences are:
1. The obstacles are lines between occupiable squares, not boxes filling a square. This means jumping an obstacle puts you in the adjacent space. Jumping a snake still takes you the same distance it always did.
2. The puzzle is set on an infinite plane, and ALL obstacles are jumpable. If you reach an edge, your snake will become lost forever, off the edge of the puzzle. This is how you LOSE.
It is not possible to lose by becoming 'stuck' as in the original.
3. The snake need not cover ALL squares, since the board is technically infinite. Only squares colored a light blue are required.
Here is a simple puzzle, with examples of success and failure. A real puzzle will be in a post below.
in the examples, RED = BUMP, BLUE = JUMP

Goalsquares:
RULES: The rules for goalsquares puzzles are the same as for the original, but you only have to pass over the blue highlighted squares, not over every square on the board. This allows for placing inescapable dead ends and other deathtraps, giving more of an 'action' feel.
