Okay. Here's a game I just thought up.
I start it off by posting a two room hold with the same room. The 2 rooms should have 5-10 differences!
For example:
This smilie is still .
and this one is shaking .
But they are the same, otherwise. O.k. Get it?

Rules:
1. The person to guess the most differences wins and gets to make the next one.
2. No cheating. No PMing your friends the differences, or anything like that.
3. The winner gets as many rankpoints as you want to give him/her.
4. The differences can be different tiles, walls, or monsters! Anything that might trick the other members.
5. No scripting! No difference in scripts.
6. There must be 5 to 10 differences!
7.NEW RULE! You can make your hold playable and anyone edit is not required. Sorry for the inconvience!
8. Have fun!

When Lst6 does a Spot the Difference hold, he will post it on his 'Prize Board' thingie. All other players can post their's here, if they win at Lst6's place.

I can't open the hold. The file is corrupted. I tried on DROD: King Dugan's Dungeon v2.0.14.1. Sounds like a good game tokyokid!

Okay, here are some differences:

- The starting sword position is S in Entrance and SE in 1E.
- The outer barrier is a wall in Entrance and pit in 1E.
- The second ring from the outside is a different floor type between rooms.
- The middle area and the 3 rings closest to it are also different between rooms.
- There's a seep on the out wall ring in 1E.
- The innermost wall ring is a crumbly wall in Entrance and a secret wall in 1E.
- The second innermost wall ring is a secret wall in Entrance and a crumbly wall in 1E.
- The level entrance in Entrance is a main entrance but the one in 1E is not

I think that's it.

Ok, here's my submission. Try to find all the differences between the two rooms in this hold. This should be harder than Tokyokid's hold - some of the differences should be easy to find but others should be subtle.

in the first room, the tar baby at 16,12 is a character, perpetually facing SE (and in the second is a regular tar baby)

first room is required, second is optional

stairs in first room go down, second go up (maybe vice versa)

wall at 34,28 is secreted in the second room

there's a wraithwing character, still still at 1,5 in the second room

There are three more differences. One will probably be very difficult to find, one I think it pretty easy, and the third is probably impossible to find.

(though I guess since you found most of them you're up next regardless)

floor at 15,16 is mosaic instead of grass in second room

Yup. The other two differences are that one of the tar babies starts out facing north instead of NE - you can only spot this before you move. The one that's probably totally unspottable is that there's a checkpoint under the rightmost mud baby in the SW corner - only about 2 pixels of it are visible.

so far both of you missed rule 6. maybe that's a non-rule rule.
it'll take me a bit to come up with an entry (aside from which, I have insufficient mod points (0 of 2) to reward someone if they figure out my entry)

incidentally, I don't want to edit my first post for "it's a game entry!" reasons, but I meant to type "sitting still" not "still still"

I disagree. neither of the two holds required you to look at NPC commands. while eyetanz' hold featured 2 NPCs, neither had any commands to look at for differences.

ANYWAY

here's my submission. like the previous 2 holds, it violates rule 6. but like the previous 2 holds, it has 8 differences (perhaps that should be the new rule 6? 8 differences in the hold, but find 5 to proceed?)

First I'd like to say you guys are killing me. I don't even get a chance to download the hold and look at it and there are two winners and two more holds to look at. Man you're fast.

Second, I think rule 6 should be changed to: "at least 5 but no more than 10". So far there have been 8 differences in the holds, but you don't want someone to come along and try setting up 15 or 20 differences to find.

Third, sounds like a good, fun game and I hope I get a chance to participate in it soon.

Well, in the meantime I wait for the confirmation I put down my rooms, and I can say, be ready to search because I inserted 10! differences, and they can be everywhere! (As i say in the hold, title doesn't count)
if you find 6 it will be your turn and get 1 rank point but if you find more, maybe more than 1 rankpoint will be given away!
Time limit will be given away in a later post I will make, with the solutions in unhidetime tags.

Edit: how could I forget the hold.

Room 2 has two trapdoors.
The door around the queens opens in Room 1, and does closes in Room 2.
There isn't a secret wall at 12,2 in Room 2.
Room 2 has a checkpoint at (15,7)
The Force arrow in Room 2 at the lower-left corner is pointing South instead of south-west.
You start at (29,16) in one room. And (28,16) in another.
Room 1 and Room 2 have staircases going in different directions.
Room 1's lightning bolt goes to (19,7). Room 2's goes somewhere else.
The queens in the lower-left corner face different directions at the start.

That's nine.
