There's a nifty little counter whilst modding something up on a page, but if you return to it, it's gone. You can't see how many mod/rank points you've given to a particular post after some time away.

Is it possible to leave the +/- counter up for good? Or am I just being silly?

Nah, I wouldn't call it silly at all.

It just leaves the question how much extra load it's going to put on the server to check for the amount of moddage you gave a post...

Ugh...I agree. Add another NumUsers*NumPosts values to the DB? Or a sparse matrix that requires scanning through for each post displayed? No way. :thumbsdown

It would really only take (# of mods) new table entries to store the data. Not terrible... but I'm not convinced this needs to be done.

It would be a nice thing to know - certainly the best way to do it would be a triple-linked matrix that stored all the info about modding.

EDIT: I was cut short last night. What I meant to say was that all you needed was a 'simple matrix', but that that matrix would be nastily hard to implement. I didn't want it to sound easy. I would find it difficult to code.
