Pro: We all like our delicious custom walls and stairs.

Cons: Some people are going to think 'LAWLZ, WE'RE LEET, LET'S MAKE THEM LOOK EXACTLY LIKE NORMAL FLOOR'.

Therefore, we implement this--and also allow a button.

What kind of button? A button that lets you hide the custom floors, walls, stairs, etc, and shows you what they really are. Togglable. Maybe even one of the Function-keys, I don't know.

Will this break earlier holds in which people were doing this with custom floors? Maybe, but /why were you doing this with custom floors?/ Bad! Bad! No cookie!

It's no worse than the orb thing, and anything that allows you to get more information in the room before you take that first step can't be a bad thing, right?

God, I remember when Clayton thought it'd be funny to abuse the image floors for the amusement of the JtRH dev team. He made a maze out of bombs on an image floor made out of bombs.

Not something you want to play in a dark room.

thus the simple and elegant brilliance of his suggestion that you get a button to turn off custom images in places that abuse them wrongly, but get to enjoy them where they are used properly

Hmmm... sounds to me like that's why bombs are differently colored on the minimap.

I can't imagine trying to navigate a tight maze of bombs from the /minimap/, of all things.
