Close, Beef Row, but Tim's the one who picked up that there was a sequel. Came out after the SNES did, so it wasn't too well-known. I think it might've been one of the last first-party NES games.
Yup, it's pretty neat, too. Zoda's Revenge. Big nasty alien from the end of the first one comes back for, well, revenge on Mike, while Mike is busy zipping through time collecting the seven mystical Tetris pieces (and meeting Sherlock Holmes, Cleopatra, and Merlin while doing so) as a result of getting sucked into what seems to be some kind of literature history book after saying the magic words, "

I actually liked the second one more than the first one. I found it to be more fun to play, at the time, though in retrospect, it's also a bit easier than the first one as well. No south Pacific theme, though you do visit C-Island again once you reach the final stages of the game.
